Online Cultural Week organised by IIT-BHU

 

Varanasi: The Cultural Council, IIT-BHU successfully organized the Cultural Week’21 from 20th-28th March in the online mode. The event took the strong initiative of connecting students from across the world through art, even in times of pandemic.

According to the convener Shashwat Khare, the seven clubs of the council conducted over 25 categories of enthralling and euphoric events under banners of Noor- Crossroads (Music Events), Jhankaar (Dance Event), Varanasi Wordfest (Literary Event), Quizfest (Quizzing Event), Kshitij (Dramatics Event), and Chitrakala (Fine Arts Event).

The fest also witnessed engrossing workshops conducted by highly talented and professional artists from across the globe such as Vikram Chandra, author of multiple famous books such as Red Earth,  Pouring Rain, and Sacred Games; Anna Williams and Brittany Collins, members of Write the World Community; O P Shrivastava, initiator of production house ‘Reelish Films’ where ‘Missed Call’, the first low budget fiction film was made; Parth Kothekar, master of paper cut; Mona Biswarupa who painted a live Coffee painting during workshop, live from Dubai and many other experienced personalities.

The Cultural Week witnessed over 1,500 participation and took forward the legacy of the Institute with huge international participation coming from Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, and other regions of the world.

Overall, the fest was extremely exuberant and highly engrossing experience for all the participants and organizers. The Cultural Councillor Dr Amitesh Kumar and Student General Secretary Pulkit Jain praised and appreciated the efforts put in by the all the student organizers in the successful conduction of the event.
