Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart Opened
Bhadohi: The divisional Commissioner of Mirzapur Yogeshwar Ram Mishra inaugurated the curtain raiser programme of the Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart on Sunday.
The function was attended by the Bhadohi MLA Ravinder Nath Tripathi, the chairman of Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC( Siddh Nath Singh, Jai Karan Singh, trade advisor, ex-officio joint secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Rajendra Prasad, DM Bhadohi, Ram Badan Singh, SP Bhadohi, Krittika Jyotsna, CEO, BIDA, Umesh Kumar Singh, joint commissioner (industries), Harendra Pratap, deputy commissioner, GM DIC, senior officials from the state government, Umar Hameed, 2nd vice-chairman, CEPC, Umesh Kumar Gupta, Onkar Nath Misra, Abdul Rub, Feroze Waziri, Mohd. Wasif Ansari, Husain Jafar Husaini, Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Shree Ram Maurya, members, committee of administration, CEPC, Onkar Nath Mishra, President, AICMA, office bearers of AICMA, and exporters.
The CEPC chairman in his welcome address informed that Carpet Export Promotion Council has finally taken over the Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart and shifted its regional office in the Mart. He said that the Mart is built in an area of 7.5 acre and is fully air conditioned with lifts and other facilities of international level. It has exhibition hall of 7,000 sq. mtr., 94 permanent shops for display of handmade carpets and other floor coverings and conference room. The CEPC will build a restaurant of international standard on the 2nd floor. The BIDA has already allotted space near mart for construction of a 5-Start hotel of international level. Council will organize two international exhibitions in a year in which overseas buyers from 60 countries will visit. Council will also organize 5-7 domestic exhibitions of garments, leather products, jute products, handicrafts, North East products, Moradabad brass, Mirzapur bartans etc. More than 600 exporters and artisans of Bhadohi and Mirzapur will directly get benefit of the mart.
Singh said that by this curtain raiser programme the Council is opening the gate of Mart for the trade/ member-exporters. They can officially view and experience the world class facilities and amenities available in the mart. Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart will bring the whole world market or overseas buyers to the exporters and weavers at their home in Bhadohi. He expressed hope that the Mart will be beneficial to all stake holders.
Yogeshwar Ram Mishra in his address appreciated the efforts made by the CEPC chairman in taking over of the Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart which will be the mile stone in development of BhadohiMirzapur and adjoining areas. Umesh Kumar Singh conveyed formal vote of thanks on behalf of the CEPC and Directorate of Industries, Govt. of U.P. and assured full support for the growth of the industry.
