Main Yoga session will be held at Benaras Club

Varanasi: The district administration in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH and Nehru Yuva Kendra will organize the main yoga session at the Benaras Club on the occasion of International Day of Yoga on Monday.
The event will be attended by the district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, chief development officer Madhusudan Hulgi, regional Ayurvedic and Unani officer Dr. Bhawani Dwivedi and Nikhil Gupta of Varanasi unit of Nehru Yuva Kendra.
The participants will include the village heads, secretary of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Youth welfare department, ASHA and Anganwadi workers. The yoga session will be conducted as per the common yoga protocol prescribed by the department of AYUSH. The yoga session will be conducted by the Yoga Wellness Centre trainers including Shivnath Tripathi, Shalini Mishra, Manish Kumar Pandey, Dr. Deepika Dave and Ashish Pal.
After the yoga session, the DM will distribute the certificates. Yoga Video Competition, Yoga Art and Yoga Quiz Competition are being organised across the state by the Uttar Pradesh State Ayush Society through Ayush Kavach App.
There is a cash prize of about Rs 37 lakh for the competitions of different age groups. E-certificate will be given by the Department of AYUSH to all the participants. The event will be held across the district in which the National Service Scheme, Youth Welfare, BSA, District Panchayat Raj Officer, Youth Welfare Officer and Civil Defense and Nehru Yuva Kendra will participate through virtual medium.
Live telecast of the will be done on Ayush Kavach App and Facebook page of Uttar Pradesh State Ayush Society from 7:00am. In rural areas, yoga will be practiced through Nehru Yuva Kendra, National Service Scheme BHU, Kashi Vidyapeeth, Yuva Kalyan and other voluntary organisations.
At the same time, the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Vaibhav, Barkha, Rajesh, Sanjana, Vaishali are organizing various competitions like painting, slogan writing, poetry writing, yoga videos on the eve of yoga awareness in their respective development blocks. Other youth volunteers, Ganga Doots, cluster leaders, will join online with the district administration and practice yoga from their homes. The importance of yoga in Covid will also be discussed through UNICEF.
