Delta variant of coronavirus predominates in Varanasi

Varanasi: Kashirecorded all time high score of Covid-19 infection in a day on Thursday with 743 new cases and two fatalities due to coronavirus.

According to the medical bulletin, with the new cases the cumulative number of positive cases increased to 26,116 in the district. With the recovery of 69 patients, 22,228 patients have recovered so far, while the number of fatalities increased to 395 in the district. The number of active cases also increased to 3,493 in Varanasi.

Ballia district reported 82 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, increasing the tally of positive cases to 8,399, while only three patients were declared cured. So far, the coronavirus has claimed 113 lives in Ballia, where the current number of active cases of Covid-19 is 400.

In Mirzapur district, 72 persons tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, that increased the cumulative number of positive cases to 3,751. With the recovery of one patient, so far 3,451 patients have recovered, while 47 persons lost their lives due to coronavirus infection. Currently, Mirzapur has 253 active cases of Covid-19.

Chandauli district reported 78 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, increasing the tally of positive cases to 5,367. With the recovery of one patient, so far 4,898 patients have recovered, while 69 persons lost their lives during treatment. Currently, Chandauli has 400 active cases of Covid-19

Jaunpur district reported 95 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, increasing the tally of positive cases to 7,305. With the recovery of five patients, the number of cured persons also increased to 6,699, while 100 persons died due to Covid-19 in the district. Jaunpur currently has 506 active cases of Covid-19.

Earlier, Sonbhadra district reported 38 new cases on Wednesday that increased the tally of positive cases to 5,510. Only four patients were declared cured, increasing the number of recovered persons to 5,261, while 79 patients so far lost their lives during treatment in the district. Currently, Sonbhadra has 170 active cases of coronavirus.
