Team Customs seizes Gold at LBSI-Airport
Varanasi: The customs officials seized foreign gold beads worth over Rs. 33 lakh at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Wednesday.
According to reports, the Team Customs seized 130 small pieces of foreign origin gold beads recovered from “Tassel for decorating women clothes”. The gold total weighing 682.750 grams, valued at Rs. 33,11,337 was recovered from a passenger coming from Sharjah in flight no. IX 184.
The passenger was returning after a short period of five months and the gold was moulded in beads form in Tassel for decorating women clothes. The passenger has been arrested and will be produced before the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM), Varanasi. Further investigation is under process.
