UP-approach to tackle Covid-19

 

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government floated global e-tenders earlier this month to procure 4 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines from licensed manufacturers. The Government would spend around Rs. 8,000 crore on it.

Uttar Pradesh has around 9.28 crore people in the age group of 18-44 years. The government has started vaccination drive in 18 districts, which will be extended to four more districts shortly.  All the districts will be covered under the vaccination drive as per the availability of vaccine.

Since the vaccination is the most effective weapon to combat the Covid-19, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given special emphasis on the procurement of vaccine. UP is the first state in the country to start free vaccination of the people in 18-44-year age group. Besides, a war footing drive has also been launched to check the spread of Covid-19 in rural areas.
