BHU Scientists among top-2%

Varanasi: Many scientists of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have figured in the list of world’s top 2% scientists prepared by the Stanford University, USA.

A subject-wise analysis has been conducted by a team of scientists at Stanford University, USA, and the database has been published in the journal PLOS Biology on October 16. The Stanford team has created a database of over one lakh top scientists of the world on the basis of standardised citation indicators.

The BHU spokesperson Rajesh Singh said that 19 university scientists of different fields have been included in the list of top 2% scientists of the world. The list included Prof. SB Rai (Applied Physics), Prof. JS Singh (Ecology), Prof. RN Singh (Energy), Prof. Madhoolika Agrawal (Environmental Science), Prof. Shashi Bhushan Agrawal (Environmental Science), Prof. Nawal Kishor Dubey (Food Science), Prof. ON Srivastava (Materials), Prof. Manoj Pandey (Oncology & Carcinogenesis), Prof. Ganesh Pandey (Organic Chemistry), Prof. Ram Shankar Dubey (Plant Biology & Botany), Prof. Subhash C Lakhotia  (Plant Biology & Botany), Prof. Rajeshwar P Sinha (Plant Biology & Botany), Prof. SK Bhattacharya (Toxicology), Prof. Shyam Sundar (Tropical Medicine) and Prof. Om Prakash (Tropical Medicine),  Prof. Manoj Kumar Mondal (Chemical Engineering), Prof. Krishnendu Bhattacharya (Mechanical Engineering & Transport), Prof. YB Tripathi (Medicinal & Biomolecular Chemistry) and Prof. Ramesh C Gupta (Mining & Metallurgy).
