RPF nabs two with 28.5 Kg silver anklets

Varanasi: The Task Team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) recovered 28.5 kg silver anklets worth Rs. 20 lakh from the possession of two passengers at Chapra railway station of Varanasi division of North Eastern Railway (NER) on Friday. The two persons were arrested and the recovered ornaments were seized.

According to the railway spokesperson Ashok Kumar, the arrested persons identified as Rakesh Kumar and Ritest Kumar were traveling from Varanasi to Chapra in Swatantrata Senani Express (02562).

Acting on a tip off, the Task Team conducted a search operation in the train. They spotted the two suspicious looking persons traveling in S7 coach. They were wearing jackets even in hot summer. On checking, dozens of silver anklets hidden in the jackets were found. They failed to present any valid document in support of the recovered ornaments. They were brought to the Chhapra post of RPF for further questioning.

The divisional railway manager Vijay Kumar Panjiyar congratulated the RPF team for this success directed for a reward to them.
