IIT(BHU) students asked to vacate the Hostels
Varanasi: In view of the alarming spread of Coronavirus in Varanasi, the hostels of IIT-BHU have been vacated. The IIT(BHU) administration asked the students to vacate their hostel rooms with immediate effect and move to their homes. The wardens of the hostels were directed to ensure compliance of the directive.
In a notice issued by the IIT(BHU) registrar on Thursday, it was stated that in the wake of increasing threat of COVID-19 spread in Varanasi and many areas of the city becoming COVID hotspots, all the students residing in the hostels of the Institute are hereby directed, in their own interest, to vacate the hostels by 16th April, Friday evening and move to the safety and care of their homes.
Instructions for their return shall be issued after assessment of situation later on. The Admin warden/ warden of the hostels, where students are residing presently, will ensure necessary compliance of these directives and facilitate the students in evacuation of room.
