Girl gang-raped murdered in Sonbhadra
Sonbhadra: Just few days after the Hathras incident, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district. One of the accused was arrested, while three others are absconding.
According to reports, the girl was allegedly raped by four persons at a village in Karma police station area of the district on September 16 night, two days after the Hathras case. After committing the crime, the accused murdered her and threw her body into a well.
On the complaint of deceased’s father, the police lodged an FIR against Ravi Shankar Chauhan and three other unknown persons with rape and murder charges on September 21. The police arrested Chauhan and sent to the jail.
Meanwhile, a financial assistance of Rs. 4.12 lakh was provided to the family by the state government on Tuesday.
