FIR lodged against Power officials in Ballia

Ballia: Just a day after the Corona blast in the district jail on Friday, the district received another jolt on Saturday when 99 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in a single day.

With it, the total number of COVID-19 patients rose to 1,240 in the district. According to the medical bulletin, so far 647 patients, who recovered from illness, were discharged from the hospitals. As many as 13 infected natives of the district lost their lives so far. Presently, there are 569 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.

Earlier, the district jail witnessed a blast of corona bomb on Friday with 160 infected prisoners including a woman inmate. The infected prisoners have been accommodated in separate barrack in the jail. They are being given medication and food as per the instruction of the health department. The woman inmate has been admitted to the L-1 hospital at Basantpur.
