Hotel of Mukhtar’s kin to be demolished

Ghazipur: An illegally constructed hotel owned by the jailed don and MLA from Mau Mukhtar Ansari’s wife and sons in a posh locality in Ghazipur will be demolished. The Ghazipur SDM (sadar) Prabhash Kumar on Thursday ordered for the demolition of the hotel within a week.

“The hotel owners have been asked to demolish the illegally constructed hotel within a week failing which the local administration would demolish the construction and claim the expenses from them,” said the SDM.

The hotel Ghazal is situated in the posh locality Mahuabagh in Ghazipur city. It is owned by don’s wife Afsa Ansari and two sons Abbas Ansari and Omar Ansari.

The SDM had ordered for the measurement of the hotel in June. After the detection of a number of irregularities in construction the map was cancelled. The irregularities in the purchase of land were also came to light, after which and FIR was lodged against 12 persons including the owners.

According to the SDM, the illegal ways were adopted in registration of the land and getting the map approved. The construction was done illegally for commercial use while the map was approved for housing. The upper floor would be demolished completely, while the ground floor would be demolished partially.
