Varanasi ACMO dies of Coronavirus

Varanasi: Additional chief medical officer (ACMO) Dr. Jang Bahadur died due to coronavirus infection. He passed away at the ICU of Banaras Hindu University hospital on late Tuesday night.

According to reports, the ACMO was admitted to a private hospital four days back. He was tested negative for Covid-19 for the first time, but on Tuesday he was found positive. He was shifted to BHU hospital, where he breathed his last.

He had been looking after the arrangements of Covid-19 management at the hospitals and medical staff quarantine arrangements. With his effective management the hospitals and hospital quarantine hotels were doing well.

Meanwhile, 60 more persons tested positive Covid-19 till Wednesday morning increasing the tally to 4,936 in the district. So far 3,191 patients have recovered from illness, while 89 persons lost their lives. Presently, the district has 1,656 active cases of coronavirus.
