Rise in COVID cases Continues
Varanasi: The surge of coronavirus cases continued in eastern UP districts on Saturday. With 196 new patients of Covid-19, the tally of positive cases rose to 4,261 in Varanasi district. Besides, other districts like Ballia and Jaunpur also witnessed rise in Covid-19 cases.
According to the medical bulletin of Varanasi, with two deaths in last 24 hours, the fatality rose to 79. Among 138 patients recovered on Saturday, 106 were in home isolation. So far 2,343 patients have recovered. Presently, there are 1,839 active cases in the district.
In Ballia district, of 1,292 lab test reports received on Saturday 94 persons were tested positive increasing the tally to 2,281. Of them 1,100 have recovered so far, while 24 persons lost their lives. Currently, the district has 1,157 active cases.
Rise in COVID cases Continues
In Sonbhadra district, 22 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Saturday increasing the tally to 818. So far, 514 patients have recovered from illness, while six patients died. Presently, there are 272 active cases of Covid-19 in the district.
The Jaunpur district also reported 65 new positive cases on Friday night. With it, the total number of positive cases rose to 2, 628. So far 1,411 patients have recovered, while 34 patients died.
In Chandauli district, 45 new positive cases including 32 men, 12 women and two minors were reported on Friday night. One infected persons died during the course of treatment at BHU hospital. The district’s tally of positive cases rose to 1,081. So far 10 patients lost their lives. Presently, there are 285 active cases of Covid-19 in the district.
