BJP leader killed in Azamgarh
Azamgarh: A BJP leader and Kshetra Panchayat member was shot dead by some unknown miscreants near his native village Jaldipur in Pawai police station area of Azamgarh district on Thursday night.
According to reports, Arjun Yadav (40) was Kshetra Panchjayam member for two consecutive terms. He owned a store of Patanjali ayurvedic medicines near Pawai crossing. He was attacked by the unidentified motorcycle borne miscreants when he was returning home after closing his shop around 9pm. The assailants opened fire on him and fled from the scene after committing the crime.
Yadav fell on the ground after receiving bullet injuries on his chest. The news of the incident spread like a wildfire in the locality and people started gathering at the spot in large numbers. The police officials including Azamgarh SP (rural) Siddharth Kumar and Phoolpur CO Rajesh Kumar along with police force reached the incident site after getting information.

The villagers and family members took him to the local hospital from where he was referred to Phoolpur trauma centre after first aid. Later he was taken to the divisional hospital where doctors declared him dead.
According to the police, the reason behind the killing is yet to be known. Azamgarh SP Sudhir Kumar Singh said that the matter is being investigated. The details are being gathered from family members to know the reason behind the killing. The miscreants involved in the murder would be caught soon, said the SP.
