OnArt Fair India’s first virtual art fair
Keeping with the need of the hour, Mojarto’s OnArt Fair – India’s first virtual art fair – is all set to take over the virtual realm of art.
In 2020, when the world seems disconnected in loss and injustice, art has wholeheartedly embraced the virtual sphere and remains the interminable source of comfort, empathy and inspiration. As a key player in the mix, Mojarto, India’s largest online art discovery platform, is proud to present the inaugural edition of the OnArt Fair – India’s first virtual art fair.
OnArt Fair is the unique venture that brings artists, gallerists, collectors and art enthusiasts together to help the art world navigate these uncertain times. It is the platform where art aficionados can interact with art and artists from the comfort of their homes; and buy and sell art without violating any social distancing norms.
Organised with the sole purpose of making art accessible to a larger audience – especially in the pandemic era when larger sections of the art community, dependent mostly on physical interactions, have witnessed immense losses. With over 70 individual artists and 30 art institutions making up a diverse list of over 100 exhibitors from all across the globe, OnArt Fair presents the perfect module for them to reconnect with their audiences and patrons and showcase new and exciting art.

Bringing together the best of both worlds – where the highlights of a physical art fair, i.e. the ability to interact with artists and other visitors, and take in talks, workshops and performances at will, meet the convenience and safety of technology – OnArt Fair sets the perfect stage for the art world looking to counteract the effects of the pandemic. With separate virtual booths for artists, galleries and specially curated collections; and live demonstrations, daily quizzes, workshops and panel discussions added to the mix, OnArt Fair, powered by Floor and 10Times, presents itself as not just an online exhibition, but more a virtual community where artists and visitors get to interact with art at a whole new level.
Highlights of the exciting line up of events and sessions include live musical performances by artists Ankur Tewari and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, aided by SEHER, the pioneers in staging music and performance art; a panel discussion on art and photography including photographers Aditya Arya and Samar Singh Jodha, gallerist Bhavna Kakkar and artists Rafique, Probir, Akash Dasgupta and Dinesh Khanna; live demonstrations of the varied nuances of traditional and contemporary art, anchored by some of the leading names in the industry including, but not limited to AV Ilango, Mukul Joshi and Jalal Luqman; sessions on art therapy, illustrations and the art of doodling; a series of contests for photographers, illustrators, doodlers, writers, art enthusiasts and even children looking for a creative outlet; and a session with Glenfiddich’s brand ambassador Angad Singh Gandhi on all things Whiskey.
With sponsored booths for organisations like the Asian Heritage Foundation – a not for profit organisation that has been promoting and safeguarding the collective cultural traditions of the continent; and with proceeds from the fair set to aid artists affected by the pandemic, OnArt Fair is poised as the one-of-a-kind venture that aims to uplift the larger art community.
Conceived as an all-inclusive fair that features a variety of art in a variety of forms and mediums, OnArt Fair sets the precedent for the ‘new normal’.
