Minor girl raped in Azamgarh

Azamgarh: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 30-year-old man living in the neighbourhood in Jiyanpur area of Azamgarh district on Wednesday. The police arrested the accused, and the girl has been referred to Varanasi for treatment.

According to reports, the girl was lured by the local native Naushad, who was familiar to her. He took the girl to his nearby tent shop, where he allegedly raped her.

The girl came home in a pathetic condition. The family members took het to the hospital, and reported the matter to police. The SP Sudhir Kumar Singh said that the accused was arrested. The district magistrate Rajesh Kumar said that the girl has been referred to the Banaras Hindu University hospital in Varanasi for treatment.
