Varanasi: A 45-year-old man Rakesh Jaiswal with his 13-year-old daughter allegedly jumped before a running train at Panchkroshi railway crossing in Sarnath police station area on Tuesday. The man died on the spot, while the girl was injured seriously. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to reports, Rakesh, a vegetable vendor, had quarreled with his wife over some issue. After the dispute he with his daughter went out and allegedly jumped before the train to commit suicide.

The police reached the spot after getting information and sent the body for postmortem. Sarnath inspector Rajeev Singh said that the injured girl has been admitted to the hospital.
