COVID-19-cases continue to grow

Varanasi: The tally of coronavirus infected persons continued to grow in the region. While Jaunpur district was on the top of list with 439 positive cases of COVID-19 on Monday, Varanasi had a total of 284 positive cases.

COVID-19-cases continue to grow

Eight more persons including a medical practitioner were tested positive for COVID-19 in Varanasi on Monday, while six positive cases were reported on Sunday evening. According to Varanasi district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, with the new cases the total tally of COVID-19 positive rose to 284 in the district. As many as nine patients, who recovered from illness were discharged from the hospital. So far 213 persons were discharged while seven persons had died in the past. Presently there are 64 active cases in the district. The total number of hotspots in the district is 145, while 72 hotspots are active.

In Jaunpur district, eight persons were tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday increasing the tally to 439. So far 242 persons recovered from illness and discharged from the hospital, while five persons had died in the past. Presently 190 persons are under treatment at the hospital.
