Sharp increase in COVID-19 cases

Varanasi: The Eastern UP is witnessing a sharp increase in COVID-19 patients. As many as 191 positive cases were found in a single day on Sunday in seven districts including Varanasi (65), Jaunpur (45), Ghazipur (29), Ballia (17), Mirzapur (14), Bhadohi (12) and Mau (9).

With 65 new cases in Varanasi, the tally of COVID-19 rose to 1271 in the district, and with one more death the toll rose to 32. According to daily medical bulletin, so far 537 patients have recovered. Presently, the district has 702 active cases of COVID-19.

In Jaunpur district, 309 lab test reports received on Sunday. Among them 45 persons were found positive increasing the tally to 895. So far 672 patients have recovered from illness, and 13 persons had died. Presently, there are 210 active cases of coronavirus in the district.

Sharp increase in COVID-19 cases

With 29 positive cases in Ghazipur, the total number COVID-19 patients increased to 529. Of them 350 patients have recovered, and seven persons died. The district currently has 175 active cases of COVID-19.

In Mirzapur district, out of 469 lab test reports received on Sunday, 14 persons were found positive for COVID-19 increasing the tally to 303. So far 205 persons have recovered, and nine persons had died. Currently 91 patients are under treatment in the district.

In Bhadohi district, with 12 new positive cases, the tally rose to 233. Of them 184 patients have recovered, and nine persons had died. Presently, there are 40 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.

Mau district too recorded nine new positive cases increasing the tally to 303. Among them 160 persons have recovered while three persons had died. Presently, the district has 140 active cases of COVID-19. Ballia district also recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19. While 240 patients are under treatment, eight persons lost their lives.
