BHU postpones entrance examination for 2020-21

 

Varanasi: In view of the extension of lockdown period, the Banaras Hindu University has postponed its entrance examination for the admission to UG/PG courses in the academic session 2020-21.

According to the BHU spokesperson Rajesh Singh, in the light of the notification issued by the government on extension of lockdown period up to May 3 to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country, the UET/PET 2020 scheduled on April 26 and May 10 have been postponed. Fresh dates for the entrance tests would be announced later.

Besides, the SET 2020 entrance test scheduled between May 1 to 6 have also been postponed. Applicants are advised to visit the university’s entrance test portal regularly for updates.

The university had planned to conduct its Entrance Examinations in in 202 cities across the country. This year BHU had received a record number of applications for admission to its UG & PG courses. Around 5.25 lakh application forms were received for about 12,500 seats. Around 3.75 lakh application forms were received for UG courses while nearly 1.5 lakh application forms for PG courses. Nearly 4.93 lakh application forms had been received for 2019-2020 session.
