Yogi government prepares the first list of migrant workers by mapping their skills
Preparations started for formation of Labour Welfare Commission; Since March 1, 24 lakh people have arrived in UP
Lucknow: The first list of workers coming from other states has been prepared after mapping their skills. In order to provide employment to every migrant worker, the government has started preparations to set up the Labour (Employment Exchange and Job) Welfare Commission. This process is expected to complete in next 2-3 days. So far, over 24 lakh people have returned to UP.
Talking to reporters on Monday, the additional chief secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi said that the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath intends to provide job to every individual. He said that in the first list of skill mapping, 1,527 workers related to auto mobile and car and bike repair have been included. Similarly, 16, 262 carpenters, 9,006 drivers, 1.52 lakh workers related to real state, 306 data entry operators, 4,980 electricians, 2,234 workers skilled in furniture fittings, 12,103 in apparel and tailoring, 26,000 painters, handicraft related 1,294 artisans, 424 nurses, 202 music teachers and 3,364 security guards have been included. He said that in a meeting with Team 11 on Monday CM reviewed in detail the safe return of migrant workers and labourers, providing employment, and formation of migration commission.
Awasthi said that CM has instructed that skill mapping of all migrant workers coming from other states should be done and they should be given apprenticeship as per their skills. During this period, they should be given honorarium as well. CM also instructed to provide data of workers in labour and employment exchange office in every district. He said that insurance cover of all workers will also be done. Manpower will be made available to other states after the guarantee of social security of workers. Housing arrangements will also be made for every migrant worker.
On the instructions of CM Shramik special trains are being operated continuously for Uttar Pradesh, he adding that till Monday, 1,174 trains have arrived in the state in which 15.62 lakh people have arrived. He said that 102 trains are coming in the next couple of days. Apart from this, permission has also been given for arrival of more trains. Thus, arrangements have been made for bringing back 18 lakh people by 1,361 trains, he added.
Now 2,606 active cases in the state, 3,581 patients have recovered: Principal Secretary Health
Principal secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said that active cases are less in the state since May 11 and the number of patients getting cured is increasing. He said that at present there are 2,606 active cases. After treatment, 3,581 patients have recovered fully and have been sent home. However, 165 people have also died so far. He said that 7,314 samples were tested on Sunday. Also, on Sunday, 936 pools of 5 samples each and 10 samples each were tested out of which 161 pools were found to be positive. So far 2,711 people have been kept in isolation and 10,270 people in quarantine, he said.
He said that 91,347 teams were engaged in surveillance of Corona infection in the state. These teams surveyed over 72.18 lakh houses in 11,920 areas. Besides, over 3.62 crore people were screened. He said that a large number of migrant workers have come back in the state, and they have been asked to stay in the home quarantine for 21 days. Asha workers have also been deployed to screen those residing in the home quarantine. He said that over 8.50 lakh people have been screened so far by ASHA workers. During the screening process, symptoms have been found in 892 people and they are being treated.
