Jaunpur/Varanasi: The COVID-19 tally in Jaunpur district rose to 424 on Saturday with 27 new positive case, while the total number of infected persons in Varanasi district rose to 270 with three new positive cases.
Varanasi district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that out of 56 test results received from BHU lab three persons tested positive for COVID-19. So far 181 persons have been discharged from the hospitals after recovering from the illness. As many as seven infected persons had died, while district has 82 active cases.
Among the three infected persons, one is a 38-year-old resident of Girnathipur village in Chaubeypur area. He had returned from Mumbai. Another is a 54-year old resident of Dalmandi area, while the third infected person is a resident of Sarainandan Shukulpura area, who had returned from Gurugram.
Four patients were discharged from DDU district hospital, ESIC hospital and BHU hospital on Saturday. With three new hotspots the total number of hotspots rose to 140 in the district. Of it 73 have turned to green zones, while the district still has 67 active hotspots.

According to Jaunpur DM DK Singh, 294 results of lab test were received on Saturday. Among 27 newly infected persons, 19 had returned from Mumbai, while four are locals. Others had returned from Delhi and Surat. So far 238 persons have recovered from illness, and four persons had died. Presently the district has 180 active cases.
In Chandauli, the DM Navneet Singh Chahal said that five more persons including a child tested positive. They belong to Saringpur and Jhenguri of Shahganj block, Panpura Baburi and Bisauri of Chandauli block and Lolpur Balua of Chahania block. Three of them had returned from Mumbai and one from Delhi and Gurugram each.
The total number of positive cases rose to 50 in Chandauli district. As many as 23 of them have been discharged from hospital, while one person had died. Presently there are 26 active cases in the district.
