Three new positive cases of coronavirus detected in Varanasi

Varanasi: Three new COVID-19 positive cases were found in Varanasi on Friday night. Two persons, who had attended Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi, were tested positive, while one person from Lohata area was also tested positive.

District magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that two samples out of 15 attendees of Tablighi Jamaat were tested positive. One of them from Madanpura locality in Dashashwamedh area, while the other is from Karnataka. The samples of 13 others were found negative.

So far 23 local attendees of Tablighi Jamaat have been isolated. The samples of eight other persons have been sent for testing on Friday. Their results are awaited.

Earlier, two positive cases were detected in Varanasi, and one of them was tested negative in retesting.
