CM Yogi writes letters to the CM of 18 states urging to take care of the people of UP

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday wrote letters to the Chief Ministers of 18 states informing them that the people of other states are being taken care of in Uttar Pradesh. He also urged them to take care of the people of Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to reporters on Monday, the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that the CM is on an inspection tour of the areas affected by corona virus. He visited Noida on Monday, while he would be in Agra, Meerut and Ghaziabad on Tuesday. He said that the CM has asked the district magistrates to provide the list of people staying in the quarantine centers in all the districts of the state.

He said that in view of the migration of people during lockdown period, the CM has written letters to the CMs of other states apprising them that their people are being taken care of in UP.

Awasthi said that 5,761 industrial units have been contacted, of which, 2,844 units have paid wages at the workplace. Maintenance arrangements have also been made in 2,368 units. A total of 3,909 units have paid the wages of their workers. He said that more than Rs. 2 crore penalty was realised from those employers who violated the government order.

Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said that eight testing labs are functional in the state. A total of 2,430 samples have been sent for testing of which reports of 2,305 samples came negative, while 88 cases were positive; and 14 patients have fully recovered. Giving details, he said that the Gautam Budh Nagar reported the highest number of Corona positive patients with 36 infected people while 13 cases have been reported from Meerut.

He said that people who came to Uttar Pradesh from different states have been quarantined. Along with this, 780 suspected people have been quarantined in facilities. 10,000 people who have come from abroad and came in close contact with infectious patients have also been home quarantined.

He said that the health department is getting full support from the Chief Minister Helpline 1076. Continuous calls are being received on the helpline number of the health department as well. In such a situation, if anyone seems suspicious, he should provide name, address to the surveillance team by communicating with them.
