Vindhyavasini Temple reopened for devotees

Mirzapur: The Vindhyavasini temple, one of the Shatipeeths in the country, reopened for devotees in Vindhyachal in Mirzapur district on Sunday after 100-day closure due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Vindhya Panda Samaj (VPS) had closed the temple for devotees on March 20. Only four-time aarti continued to be performed by the priests. According to VPS president Pankaj Dwivedi, before the opening of the temple all required measures in view of COVID-19 protocol were taken.

The reopening of the temple was delayed as one of the priests was tested positive for COVID-19 on June 10. Before the reopening of the temple kirtan and aarti were performed on Sunday. The Mirzapur MLA Ratnakar Mishra and district magistrate Sushil Patel were also present on the occasion.
