Liquor shops will remain open from 10 am to 7 pm in Lockdown-3 in Kashi

Others shops will also be allowed to operate from 10 am to 5 pm; social distancing protocol is mandatory; Violators will be booked

 

Varanasi: In the third phase of lockdown beginning from Monday, the opening of liquor shops in urban and rural areas will be allowed from 10 am to 7 pm. However, serving liquor at the shops will be restricted, and the protocol of social distancing would be implemented strictly. Before opening the liquor shops, the owners will have to consult the district excise officer and excise inspector to ensure whether the permission is granted in their respective areas.

The district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that as per the new guideline, all shops of essential commodities will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm on all days except Sunday. Milk shops and retail outlets will be allowed to open for one hour in the morning from 7 am to 8 am.

No mall, hotel, restaurant food outlets, betel shop would be allowed to operate. However, the dabhas on the highways have been exempted from the restriction.

All the hospitals, path labs and medicine shops will remain open round the clock. The distribution of newspapers, media offices are exempted from restriction, while the Bank, insurance offices, government offices will function as per their working hours on working days.  The transport, logistics, courier, warehouse, cold stores, food processing units, mobile companies will operate from 10 am to 5 pm.  The home delivery of goods will be allowed till 5 pm.
