27 new COVID-19 cases found
Varanasi: With 27 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, the tally rose to 627 in the district. One more person died due to coronavirus infection increasing the toll to 23. As many as eight patients, who recovered from illness, were discharged from the hospitals.
According to the district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, the reports of 127 samples were received from BHU lab. Of them 27 persons were tested positive for COVID-19. A 65-year-old retired government official, who had been suffering from diabetes and kidney problem, died during treatment at the BHU hospital on Sunday.
So far, as many as 348 patients have recovered, while 256 persons are under treatment. Ten new hotspots were created on Sunday increasing the number to 300. Of them 135 have become green zone, while 136 are in red zone and 29 in orange zone.
