Two more cases of COVID-19 detected in Varanasi
Total number of positive cases climbs to 87 with 31 active cases
Varanasi: With the detection of two new COVID-19 positive cases in the district on Wednesday the total number of infected persons rose to 87 with 31 active cases. So far 55 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Varanasi.
According to the district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, a total of 65 reports of samples were received from BHU lab on Wednesday. Two persons tested positive, while others were negative. Among the two positive cases one is a 58-year-old fourth grade employee of additional director health Varanasi division office. He lives in Jaitpura locality. The other one is a 73-year-old resident of Naria Sunderpur.
The Naria Sunderpur was declared a new hotspot. The total number of hotspots in the district rose to 30. Three hotspots- Bajardiha, Gangapur and Lohta have now become green zones.
