Local NCC boy selected for Air Force Academy

Varanasi: It is matter of pride for NCC that Senior Under Officer Shashindra Kumar Singh of 7 UP Air Sqn NCC, Varanasi (B) has been selected to undergo training at Indian Force Academy. He will be commissioned as Officer in Indian Air Force after training.

Son of an ASI of RPF, Senior Under Officer Shashindra was selected to undergo pilot course at Air Force Academy. Shashindra had been a bright student throughout and after completing school from Kendriya Vidyalaya, DLW, he joined BA Social Science at Banaras Hindu University.

Shashindra Kumar Singh did extremely well in his NCC training and participated in Republic Day Camp and All India Vayu Sainik Camp. In recognition of his good performance in NCC, he was selected for Youth Exchange Programme Vietnam. His hard work and perseverance was rewarded when he cleared AFCAT and SSB and is very soon going to commence his flying training at prestigious Air Force Academy. He acknowledges the role of NCC in his success. He feels that NCC has been instrumental in shaping his character in the crucial years of his life.
