The gangster Vikas Dubey, who had been on the run for seven days after the killing of eight policemen in Kanpur, was nabbed at Mahakal Temple in Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) on Thursday.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in his tweets, said that the MP police will hand over Vikas Dubey to Uttar Pradesh police for further action. He said that he had talked to the UP CM Yogi Adityanath in this regard. He also congratulated Ujjain police for arresting Vikas Dubey.

On this high profile arrest the former UP CM and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav wanted to know whether it was an arrest or surrender. In his tweet, Akhilesh said, “The govt must clarify whether Vikas Dubey surrendered himself or was arrested”.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too raised finger over the efficiency of UP government. In her tweets, Priyanka said that the government failed to take prompt action in this case. She also demanded a CBI probe into the matter.
