New COVID-19 cases in Varanasi
Varanasi: With 11 new patients the tally of COVID-19 in Varanasi rose to 343 on Monday. So far 235 of them have recovered from illness while 13 patients had died. Presently, the district has 95 active cases of COVID-19.
According to the chief medical officer Dr VB Singh, five family members of an infected person of Premchand Nagar Colony under Cantonment area including a 85-year-old woman, 58-year-old man, 55-year-old woman, 45-year-old woman and 48-year-old man were tested positive.

A 28-year-old man of Rajmandir in Kotwali area, a 33-year-old textile trader of Bhagwandas Colony Rathyatra, a 34-year-old private accountant of Haujkatora Dashaswamedh, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old boys of the family of an infected person of Nandnagar Sarnath and a 50-year-old lever patients of Gauriganj Jaitpura, were also tested positive for COVID-19.
Two patients were declared cured and discharged from hospital on Monday. Four area including Rajmandir, Haujkatora and Bhagwandas Colony were declared new hotspots. With it the total number of hotspots in the district rose to 178. So far 104 hotspots have come in green zones. Now 74 areas are in the category of active hotspots.
