Sankat Mochan Music Fest to go digital only due to lockdown

 

Varanasi: Though the lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak has restricted the physical gathering of musicians and music lovers at Sankat Mochan, it would fail to dampen their spirit to joint the the six-day Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaraoh digitally commencing from April 12.

Mahanth Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra said that the music fest would be viewed digitally only due to the lockdown. Many celebrated musicians like Pt. Jashraj, Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra, Pt. Ajay Pohankar, Pt. Ajay Chakraborty, Ustad Rashid Khan and others have given their consent to perform digitally on the occasion.

Besides, all other religious rituals of Hanuman Jayanti beginning from Wednesday would also be performed by the priest only without the presence of devotees at the temple.
