Migrant worker dies in Varanasi

 

Varanasi: Panic prevailed for a while in Dimapur village of Jansa area after a migrant worker Izhar Aslam (42), who had returned from Mumbai, died all of a sudden on Monday during the outbreak of COVID-19. The team of health professionals reached the village to look into the matter. However, he was not diagnosed as a COVID-19 patient.

According to reports, he along with his two brothers had reached Balrampur district by a Shramik special train on Saturday, and moved to Varanasi by a bus on Sunday. Their thermal screening was done at the dispatch centre of Harahua. As no symptom of COVID-19 was found in them, they were sent to the village shelter home for quarantine. After feeling sickness, he went to his home on Sunday night, and died on Monday morning. The matter was reported to police immediately.

According to the chief medical officer Dr. VB Singh, in initial investigation it was found that he had cardiac problem. It is suspected that he would have died due to cardiac arrest. However, the actual reason of his death will become clear after postmortem.
