234 new COVID-19 cases in 24-hours
Varanasi: As many as 234 new cases of COVID-19 were found on Monday in seven districts of eastern UP including Varanasi (115), Sonbhadra (34), Chandauli (34), Ballia (24), Mau (13), Mirzapur (10) and Azamgarh (4).
According to the medical bulletin, with 115 new cases of COVID-19, the highest number so far in a single day on Monday, Varanasi was top in the list with a tally of 1,386 positive cases so far. With one more death of a patients, the toll rose to 33 in the district. So far 585 patients have recovered, while 768 persons are under treatment at the hospitals.
In Sonbhadra district, with 34 new positive cases the tally rose to 315. Of them 78 persons have recovered from the ailment, while one person died. Presently, there are 236 active cases of COVID-19 in the district. The Chandauli district too recorded 34 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday late night increasing the tally to 499. As many as 199 persons have recovered, while 295 patients are under treatment at the hospital. The district also witnessed death of five persons.

In Ballia district, with 24 new positive cases the tally rose to 721. Of them 466 have recovered, while five persons died. Presently, there are 250 active cases of COVID-19 in the hospitals. Mau too recorded 13 new cases on Monday increasing the tally to 316. So far 183 persons have recovered while four persons died. The district has 129 active cases of COVID-19.
With 10 new cases, the Mirzapur district’s tally rose to 313 on Monday. However, 221 of them have recovered, while eight persons died. Presently, the district has 84 active cases of COVID-19. In Azamgarh district, the tally rose to 447 with four new cases on COVID-19. Of them 311 have recovered, while 10 persons died. There are 126 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.
