Yogi Adityanath won’t attend father’s funeral

Varanasi: Demonstrating an exemplary sense of responsibility amid the coronavirus fight, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath decided not to attend his father’s funeral on Tuesday.

Yogi’s father Anand Sigh Bisht died on Monday at AIIMS, New Delhi. He got the information of his father’s demise while he was holding a meeting with officials at his residence in Lucknow. Conquering the grief and pain, he continued the meeting to discharge his duty to the state.

He decided not to take part in the last rites of his father, as the enforcement of coronavirus lockdown is his first priority. Paying tributes to his father in a letter, he stated that he would not take part in the last rites of his father.

He also urged his family members to keep the last rites limited to a few people following the rules of the lockdown owing to the Coronavirus pandemic. He would only be able to pay a visit after the lockdown ends.
