Local news:

* Banaras Hindu University working on vaccine and low-cost COVID-19 test kits: The Times of India quoting BHU vice chancellor Prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar reports that the university is working on vaccine and efficient affordable test kits to combat COVID-19.

* So far 15 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Varanasi, five of them got cured, while nine patients are under treatment. One person died. As of now there are six hotspots in Varanasi.

*  Varanasi administration gives no relaxation in lockdown from Monday onward. No new activity is allowed.

Some other news:

* Central government opens job avenues for stranded migrant labourers from Monday.

* 40 districts in UP including Varanasi were pulled up for poor performance during lockdown period.

* One more COVID-19 positive case found in Mubarakpur area of Azamgarh district. So far seven persons tested positive in Azamgarh, three of them got cured.

* First COVID-19 positive case found in Mau district.
