Three more COVID-19 positive cases detected in Varanasi

Now, the district has 37 positive cases including 28 active cases of COVID-19

 

Varanasi: Three more persons including a policeman tested positive for COVID-19 in Varanasi on Sunday. Now, the district has 37 positive cases including 28 active cases of COVID-19

The district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that a total of 117 sample reports were received out of which 114 were negative. Among the three positive cases one is a constable posted at the outpost of Varanasi Municipal Corporation in Sigra area, while two others are the residents of Arjunpur village in Sevapuri block. The two persons were engaged as labourers for loading and unloading at wood market in Kolkata. They reached home on April 22, but they were not allowed by the villagers to enter the village.

The gram pradhan took them to the Sevapuri primary health centre from where they were referred to Shivpur community health centre on April 23 after knowing their travel history. Their samples were sent for testing on the same day. They were admitted to the isolation ward of DDU District hospital

Earlier, seven policemen including a sub-inspector, three head constables and three constables of the same outpost were tested positive on Saturday.
