Three more case of COVID-19 found in Varanasi

Number of positive cases rises to 52 in 17 hotspots

 

Varanasi: With the detection of three fresh cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday the number of total cases rose to 52 in Varanasi. Now, the district has 17 hotspots of coronavirus.

The district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that the three persons are medicine traders. They had come into contact with an infected medicine trader of Saptsagar Medicine market.

One of them is a 43-year-old resident of Mehmoorganj area, while a 25-year-old person is the resident of Maidagin area and the third person (29), resident of Chhoti Piyari locality, is an employee of a medicine trader. They were admitted to the isolation ward of DDU District Hospital.

Earlier, 12 persons including four members of the medicine trader were tested positive on Tuesday. The number of hotspots increased to 17 from 14. So far eight persons recovered from illness, while 43 persons are in isolation ward. One person had died earlier.
