No new COVID-19 case in Varanasi

 

Varanasi: The district remained free from new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday. All the 152 reports received from BHU laboratory were negative.

According to the district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, so far, the total positive cases in district are 152. Out of 152 corona positive patients, 83 have been recovered, while there are 65 active cases in district.

There are 78 hotspots in district. While 22 hotspots became green zone, 50 hotspots are active. Out of 50 active hotspots, 8 are in orange zone and 48 in red zone.

Earlier on Monday, eight new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Varanasi. Of them six belong to Varanasi, while one is from Jaunpur and the other is from Karnal (Haryana). As many as 19 persons, who tested negative, were discharged from the hospital. Among the six positive cases of Varanasi, three are migrant workers arrived from Mumbai, while others include a constable of traffic police, a health worker and a tailor.

In Azamgarh, 15 new cases of COVID-19 were found on Tuesday increasing the total number of infected persons to 55. They have been admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital. A person was also tested positive for Covid-19 in Ballia district increasing the total tally to 31.
