Stern Action to be taken against those hiding Coronavirus Infection and not informing it deliberately

Action to be initiated against District and Police Administration by fixing their responsibility

 

Lucknow: The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the concerning authorities to identify and take stern action against those persons, who are hiding Coronavirus infection and not informing about it deliberately.

Talking to reporters on Monday, the Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Information, Awanish Kumar Awasthi, said that the district magistrates and SSPs have been directed to carry out intensive checking in rural areas in order to find out any hidden Coronavirus infection. If a case of hidden infection is found anywhere, the district and police administration will be held accountable for this and stern action will be taken against them. He said that direction had been given to focus special attention on sanitization and doorstep delivery in the hotspot areas.

Awasthi said that the CM had directed the concerning authorities to further strengthen the testing labs and augment the testing capacity. Instructions have also been given on laying special thrust on tele-consultancy through telemedicine.

The CM directed the officers to ensure compliance of social distancing norm at Mandi sites. He said that the officers should extend a helping hand to the farmers by simplifying the rules in order to avoid any inconvenience to them. Purchase of wheat at a rate lower than the minimum support price would not be allowed. Laying stress on the need for further streamlining the procurement of crops and Mandi paraphernalia, the CM said that the procurement of crop from the village or on the farm should be encouraged as an alternative procurement dispensation through FPO (Farmers Producers Organisation).

Effective action is being taken in a big way in the cases of illicit liquor. The officers and employees involved in the incident of illicit liquor in Kanpur have been suspended with immediate effect, he added. Awasthi said that sanitization work was being undertaken through fire tenders in the hotspot areas. Action has been taken against the people who broke the rules in the hotspots.

Under the first phase, 3 146 hotspots have been identified. So far 171232 houses and 978055 people therein have been identified. As many as 401 Corona positive persons have been detected in these hotspots. Out of 2470 Corona suspicious persons, 2427 have been kept in institutional quarantines. In the second phase, action has been taken to identify 62 hotspots. So far, 162 houses and 950828 inmates therein have been identified. There are 80 Corona positive persons in these hot spots, while 1062 persons have been kept in institutional quarantines.

In the hotspot areas of the state, the people living there are being provided milk through doorstep delivery milk booths and deliveryman. In all 2081 vehicles have been deployed for vegetable and fruit distribution. Essential commodities are being delivered in these areas through 2256 persons and 1683 provision stores. As many as 112 community kitchens are operational in the hotspot areas. Awasthi said that no individual or institution would distribute food packets without permission of the district administration. Legal action will be taken if anyone or any institution is found distributing food packets without permission. He said that food packets had been distributed among 1220867 persons through 720 government and 1756 community kitchen in the state. Under the Food grain Distribution Scheme, food grains have been distributed on 8674644 ration cards against the 12775880 ration cards (including the number of Antyodaya) under the free category. Besides, ration has been distributed on 28611704 ration cards against 35639758 ration cards currently under circulation in the state.

Under the doorstep delivery dispensation, 21229 Kirana Stores are functioning in the state. Through these stores, 49 deliverymen are regularly supplying essential commodities. Under the fruit and vegetable distribution system 42944 vehicles have been arranged. Against the total procurement of 52.79 lakh litres of milk, 34.13 lakh litres of milk have been distributed through 20012 delivery vans.

Awasthi said that under the police action taken by the police department during the lockdown period in the wake of Coronavirus in the state, FIR has been registered under the section 188 against 16572 persons. During the intensive checking of 1585089 vehicles so far, 21967 vehicles have been seized and Rs. 65566300 has been realized by way of compounding fee. Permits have issued to 150845 vehicles for essential services. He said that 395 FIRs had been registered 493 persons indulging in black-marketing and hoarding and 170 arrested. He said that the state government was keeping a close watch over fake news and so far 255 cases of fake news had been taken into cognizance and referred to the Cyber Cell, which would take action after investigation.

Awasthi said that under the workers maintenance scheme of the UP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, an amount of Rs 1000 per worker has been sent through RTGS to the bank account of 12.65 lakh workers engaged in construction works. Besides, an amount of Rs. 1000 per worker has also been paid to 4.78 lakh workers in urban areas and3.33 lakh destitute persons in rural areas. He said that 33151 factories in the state had been contacted and 30466 of 5 them had paid wages to their workers. He said that so far 5469 industrial units had started functioning. He said that the number of shelters under the revenue department had gone up to 5241 and the number of people living in these shelters had gone up to 125989.

Principal Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad, said that ICMR has given its permission to the state for pool testing, which would speed up screening work by testing several samples at a time. He said that Uttar Pradesh is the country’s first state to carry out pool testing. He said that the number of testing labs in the state has gone up to 14 and now about 2000 samples are being tested daily in the state. So far, 14242 persons have tested, out of which 13692 had been tested negative. The Health Department is providing the facility of tele-consultancy to the people through telemedicine on its helpline number 1800-180-5145. Retired and private doctors for becoming tele-consultant can get themselves registered on the website of health department. Emergency services will be kept continued. For prevention against infection, doctors, paramedics etc will be trained through video-conferencing. Till now, 550 Corona positive cases have been detected in 41 districts of the state and 47 of these cases have been cured. He said that among the total detected cases, 307 belong to Tablighi Jamaat.
