Man electrocuted in Ballia

Ballia: A 40-year-old man Nagendra Singh was electrocuted when came into contact with a high-tension wire at Dehari village in Rasra police station area in Ballia district on Friday.

According to reports, he came into contact with live wire while paddy sowing in the field. He was rushed to the primary health centre, where doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, over 10 persons were injured in a clash of two groups over some land dispute at Mirzapur village in Bairia police station area of Ballia district on Friday. The injured persons were taken to the primary health centre from where four seriously injured persons were referred to the district hospital.

The police also arrested two cattle smugglers in Nagra area of Ballia district on Friday. The police seized a pickup van being used in cattle transportation. The police rescued eight cattle from the van. The arrested persons were identified as Rajesh and Akram Ansari, both natives of Ballia district. The police also recovered two pistols with four live cartridges from them.
