Death of second COVID-19 patient in Varanasi
Total number of COVID-19 positive cases is 91 in the district
Varanasi: The second death due to COVID-19 was reported in Varanasi on Thursday evening. Earlier, a COVID-19 patient had died on April 3. The total number of positive cases in the district is 91, while 55 of them recovered from illness.
According to the district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, the 58-year-old woman died of acute respiratory infection at the Banaras Hindu University Hospital.
The woman had also been suffering from hypothyroidism, hypertension and diabetes. The deceased belonged to Lallapura hotspot in Sigra area. She was admitted to the BHU hospital on May 4.
Earlier, a Kolkata returned trader had died on April 3 at the hospital. He was, however, tested positive when his test report was received on April 4. His wife and daughter-in-law were also tested positive, and they were discharged from the hospital after getting cured.
As many as five positive cases on COVID-19 were reported in Varanasi on Wednesday. However, no positive case reported in the district on Thursday.
