Varanasi: A day before the pre announce ‘Shri Kashi Vishwanath Gyanvapi Mukti Dandwat Yatra’, the police arrested the president of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Gyanvapi Mukti Andolan Sudhir Singh on Sunday.
Singh had given a call of Dandwat Yatra by the devotees of Lord Shiva from Sankat Mochan temple to Kashi Vishwanath temple on Monday. In view of the prohibitory orders in the district the police arrested him from his Saket Nagar residence. He took a pledge not to take food and water in the jail.
Singh is a former Samajwadi Party leader. After quitting the party, he has begun a movement of Gyanvapi liberation.
