Cops asked friendly behavior with Shiva-bhaktas during Sharawan festivity

Varanasi: The chief secretary Anup Chandra Pandey and DGP OP Singh asked the policemen to remain polite and friendly with the devotees and ‘Kanwar’ pilgrims during the month-long Shrawan festivity. They made it clear that the government is serious and sensitive towards the convenience of devotees during the festival.

The city witnesses huge gathering of devotees during Sharawan month, which is going to commence on July 17. The chief secretary and the DGP were here on Friday to hold a meeting with officials for the preparations of Shrawan festivities.

Recalling the friendly policing during Kumbh in Prayagraj and NRI meet in Varanasi, they asked the policemen to maintain the same temperament during Shrawan month. The officials were asked to complete all the arrangements by July 15. The NHI and PWD officials were instructed to ensure repairing of roads at war footing. The other departments including Varanasi Municipal Corporation, Jal Nigam, food security, transport and health were also asked to be fully prepared with the tasks meant for the convenience of devotees. They also planted three in the premises of commissionary and visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
