Abducted boy rescued, three arrested in Mirzapur
Varanasi: The police succeeded in rescuing an eight-month-old abducted boy after two months in Mirzapur district on Friday. The police also arrested three persons including a woman involved in kidnapping.
According to reports, the boy Sagar, son of Dharmraj of Sikari village in Padari police station area of Mirzapur district, was kidnapped by some unknown persons on December 17. Dharmraj lodged an FIR at Padari police station against unidentified kidnappers under section 363 (kidnapping) of IPC.
According to the Padari inspector Manjay Singh, the name of Shankar Chauhan of Devapur village came to light during investigation. Acting on a tip off the police caught Shankar, his wife Shivani and his 14-year-old brother Pawan Chauhan at Dagmagpur crossing with the abducted boy when they were going somewhere on a motorcycle.
During interrogation the arrested persons confessed their crime. Shankar said that he abducted the boy for his wife, as she was unable to conceive. He with his brother had gone to Shankar’s shop, where they picked up the boy and fled from the scene on his motorcycle. They stated living in Ramaipatti area.
