Three persons killed in mishap
Varanasi: As many as three persons were killed and five others were injured seriously when a speeding pickup van overturned on the over bridge in Harahua area on Friday morning. The injured persons have been admitted to a local hospital.
According to reports, the pickup van carrying betel was coming from Barabanki. While crossing through the over bridge it overturned. Three persons died on the spot, while five persons sustained serious injuries.

The police with the help of local residents rushed the injured persons to a nearby hospital for treatment. The killed persons were identified as Nanhu (22), Satyam (30) and Rohan Lal (45), all residents of Gosaiganj area of Lucknow. The injured persons including Umashankar, Ranjeet, Sitaram, Arvind and Rajendra are under treatment. The driver Rinku escaped narrowly unhurt from the mishap.
The police sent the bodies for postmortem. The families of injured persons were informed.
