Jaunpur: A student, who returned from Devband, was tested positive for COVID-19 in Jaunpur district on Wednesday. His co-passenger and student in Islamic institute at Moradabad had already been found infected after returning home in Varanasi on April 3.
A total of 39 students from Devband and Moradabad had travelled in a bus on March 25, a day after the lockdown was announced, to return their homes in many districts of eastern UP including Jaunpur, Varanasi and Chandauli. Of them 24 had alighted in Jaunpur.
The efforts to trace out the other passengers of the bus has been intensified. One of them who belongs to Lohta area in Varanasi had already been confirmed positive on April 4. Three other passengers have been traced in Chandauli district and their test reports are awaited.
