  • Death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 1008 and the number of cases climbed to 31,787 in the country.
  • With two more COVID-19 deaths and 62 new cases of infection, the corona virus casualty count in UP rose to 36 and total number of infected persons to 2,115.
  • The UP government will add 52,000 beds in the hospitals across the state to effectively deal with the COVID-19 situation.
  • UP Board will telecast special classes for 10th and 12th students on Doordarshan from May 1.
  • Migrant workers, tourists, students and other people stranded in different parts of the country were allowed to move to their respective destinations with certain conditions.

  • Four persons of a family were killed in two separate incidents in Jaunpur district.
  • Three militants were killed in an encounter in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
