Varanasi: As many as 12 new infected persons found on Wednesday increasing the tally to 376.
According to the chief medical officer Dr VB Singh, 129 test reports were received from BHU lab in which 12 were found COVID-19 positive. With it the total number of COVID-19 cases in the district rose to 376 of which 256 have recovered and 13 patients had died. There are 107 active cases in the district.
The positive cases include a 46-year-old medical representative of Chandamri Shivpur, a 54-year-old kidney patient of Sirhira Kapsethi, a 39-year-old mechanic of Rasulpur Lamahi, a 28-year-old salesman and his 22-year-old wife of Rohania, a 40-year-old man of Bhuletan Chowk, a 20-year-old woman of Sonarpura Bhelupur, a 74-year-old cancer patient admitted at MMM Cancer Institute BHU and a 53-year-old textile trader of Soot Tola Chowk.

Besides, a 23-year-old relative of already infected person of Ausanganj, 55-year-old woman of Chowk and a 27-year-old medical practitioner of Sushrut hospital of BHU were also found infected.
As many as 14 patients admitted at ESIC and DDU district hospitals were discharged from hospitals. A total of seven areas including Chandmari, Sirhira, Rasulpur, Rohania, Bhuletan, Baghada Sonarpura and Soot Tola were declared new hotspots. With it total number of hotspots in the district reached to 189 of which 78 are in active category. He said that test report of already sent 649 samples are awaited.
